Pigeon Forge is a great vacation destination for all ages. There will never be a dull moment as you explore all of the fun attractions that the city has to offer! Your days can be as action-packed or as laid back as you want them to be! If you need some recommendations for activities, check out this list of 3 can’t-miss things to do in Pigeon Forge:
1. Dollywood
The Dollywood amusement park was founded by and named after country music superstar, Dolly Parton. It is jam-packed with something for every visitor to enjoy! Thrill seekers can ride popular roller coasters, such as Thunderhead and the Tennessee Tornado. People who want a more laid-back ride can take in the beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountains on the Dollywood Express. Other attractions in the park include entertaining live shows, one of which is Wings of America Birds of Prey. Learn interesting facts about some majestic birds as they are perched onstage. Audience participation can occur throughout the show. If you’re lucky, you may get to have a bird rest on your arm. With so much fun to be had, it is no surprise that Dollywood was rated the “#1 Theme Park in the United States” by TripAdvisor in 2022.
2. Titanic Museum
The Titanic Museum is another one of the fun things to do in Pigeon Forge. You’ll see a well-known historical event come to life like never before. Starting with the outside, the building itself is a replica of the iconic ship. Inside, there are interactive activities that will teach you more about it and its unforgettable demise. You can experience the ship’s grandeur by walking the $1 million replica of the Grand Staircase. You can then see what it took to power it by shoveling “coal” in the boiler room. Other activities include sitting in an actual-size lifeboat, standing on sloping decks, and feeling the chill of 28℉ ocean water. Another one of the museum’s goals is to remember the passengers and crew who lost their lives during the sinking. In the Titanic Memorial Room, you can see the names of 2,208 people who lost their lives written on the wall.
3. Dolly Parton’s Stampede
Dolly Parton’s Stampede is the “Smokies Most Fun Place to Eat” and “The World’s Most Visited Dinner Attraction.” Visitors love the fun music, shocking stunts, and majestic horses. Dolly Parton herself is not actually in the show. However, she is there in spirit with a recording of an original song. As you watch all of the action unfold, you will eat a delicious 4-course meal featuring a whole rotisserie chicken, corn on the cob, creamy vegetable soup, and an apple turnover for dessert. They make sure to accommodate different types of palettes with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Other activities at this attraction include the Horse Walk. You can walk along the stables and see the four-legged performers on the show up close.
