While Anakeesta has quickly established itself as one of the top destinations in the Smokies, the outdoor family theme park continues to grow in 2020! As part of its largest expansion ever, Anakeesta is adding new, exciting ways for guests to enjoy an authentic outdoor Smoky Mountain experience in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. Here are just 3 of the new fun things coming to Anakeesta in 2020:
1. Observation Tower
The views from the top of Anakeesta are about to get even better with a one-of-a-kind observation tower! This iconic tower will be perched on the summit of the mountain and become the tallest point in downtown Gatlinburg! While visiting the observation deck, you will be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the surrounding states. You won’t want to forget your cell phone or camera because this is sure to become the best selfie spot in the Smokies!
2. Smokehouse Brewery
The Smokehouse Brewery is a new dining option coming to Anakeesta in 2020 as part of the expansion and will feature delicious southern BBQ favorites. This restaurant will seat close to 300 guests, which actually doubles Anakeesta’s dining capacity. While dining, you will be surrounded by gorgeous mountain vistas from a glass enclosed, climate controlled indoor area, or a spacious outdoor patio. The restaurant will also serve local craft beers at an inside bar and a walk-up window. Just outside of the Smokehouse Brewery, a new family friendly water feature is being constructed to resemble a Tennessee mountain creek complete with a waterfall!
3. Family Tree House Adventures
Anakeesta is also adding a new play area for families to enjoy called the Family Tree House Adventures! This unique interactive play area features whimsical treehouse structures that are connected by a net challenge course, as well as several areas to swing and relax. This attraction will be accessed by a new accessible boardwalk trail that extends Anakeesta’s botanical garden walkway. The trail winds its way into the Vista Gardens to access the tree house challenge course on the way to the new observation tower.
