1. What to Expect
The Moonshine Mountain Coaster in Gatlinburg is a roller coaster style attraction where you get to control the speed of your ride down the mountain, and the adventure is approximately 5 minutes long from start until the exit! Each of the coaster sleds is securely attached to a steel track and a simple brake handle is all you need to speed up or slow down! Your adventure starts with a leisurely tow ride to the top of the hill where you can sit back to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Once at the peak, get ready for a thrilling downhill trip full of dips, curves, and more! The coaster is open during both the day and at night, so we recommend riding it at both times for a completely different experience.
2. Height and Age Restrictions
The awesome thing about the Moonshine Mountain Coaster is that no special skills are required, so it is a super fun destination for the entire family! Keep in mind that there are a few height and age restrictions for safety reasons, including that riders must be at least 56 inches tall to ride the coaster alone. Since the coaster sleds can accommodate up to two riders, passengers can ride as long as they are at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall. The driver must be at least 16 years of age or older when two people are riding together.

You will find a variety of ticket options for the Moonshine Mountain Coaster, including separate prices for adults, youth, and children. You can also purchase a re-ride for a heavily discounted price, and believe us, you’ll want to ride again and again! The Moonshine Mountain Coaster offers service discounts as well, which is available to members of the military, police, fire personnel, and EMS personnel with an ID or proof of employment. Note that the Service discount applies to the individual and one guest or the individual and their immediate family (spouse and children).
