There is so much you can experience when you take a vacation to our cabins in the Smoky Mountains during the spring. Not only are there plenty of things to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, you can also take in the beautiful surroundings from all of our cabins. Here are 5 ways to enjoy springtime in the Smokies!
1. Go on a Hike
When springtime comes, the weather starts to get warmer and all of the trails open, this is a perfect opportunity for your family to go on a nature hike together. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a beautiful place to see all sorts of native plant and animal species appear. You’ll want to plan your vacation in a way that frees up at least a day to do this activity.
2. Admire the Wildflowers
When you’re in the park during spring, you’ll be astonished by the beauty of the diverse wildflowers that are seen on every trail. You’ll be amazed to learn that there’s more than 1,600 species of flowers that grow right here! Spring is the perfect time to view a colorful array of trillium and rhododendron, to name a few. Even if you’re not good at spotting different kinds of flowers, you’ll be delighted by the sights of purple, yellow, and white greeting you every step of the way!
3. Use Our Outdoor Amenities
Spring at our cabins in the Smoky Mountains is the time for enjoying the warmer weather with our fantastic outdoor amenities. Many of our cabins feature a deck where you can sit on one of the rockers and breathe that fresh mountain air while being at
peace in your environment. Don’t forget about using one of our grills for a family barbecue! These are the moments that you’ll cherish long after your vacation has come to an end.
4. Attend Spring Events
While it’s great to spend a few days at your cabin, spring is a time for enjoying some of the many events on the calendar. If you’re a fan of arts and crafts or just love seeing creativity on display, the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community Easter Show is an ideal stop at the Convention Center in Gatlinburg — and it’s totally free to browse! There’s also a Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament for fishers that want to reel in some great prizes. We don’t want you to miss any of these exciting events!
5. Take Plenty of Pictures
The Smoky Mountains is lovely any time of year, but spring is an especially great season for you to take plenty of pictures. Whether you’re hiking or admiring the wildflowers, we think you’ll do a good job of capturing the memories. The hardest decision you’ll make is which picture to place on your homescreen!
